We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall quality of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and have experience in field service environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and calibrate a variety of medical equipment in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on medical devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment using hand tools and computer hardware as necessary.
  • Document all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate record-keeping.
  • Interpret schematics and technical manuals to assist with repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand equipment needs and address any concerns regarding functionality.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools required for repairs.

Qualifications

  • Clean driving record
  • Clear background and drug check
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Good customer service skills
  • Must be comfortable working with patients and caregivers while wearing PPE.
  • Proven experience in field service or a similar role involving medical equipment maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manuals effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
